Military Press - barbell

  • Can be done seated or standing.
     
  • Starting position - bar resting across shoulders, at neck height. To acheive this, you could:
     
    - Seated - clean the bar, then sit down;
    - Seated - have a spotter hand you the bar;
    - Seated - use a power rack, or some gyms have a rack specifically for military press;
    - Standing - clean the weight;
    - Standing - use a power rack / squat rack;
     
  • Grip can vary, but around shoulder width is recommended.
     
  • Press bar to arm's length overhead.
     
  • Slowly lower to starting position.
