The pectoral ("Pectoralis Major & Pectoralis Minor") muscles, or Pecs as they are commonly known,
are located at the upper-front of the chest wall.
The main function of the pectorals is to bring the arms towards the chest. They also assist in pushing movements away from the body.
The pectorals can be trained in isolation movements, such as the Dumbell Flye, or as part of compound pressing movements
such as the bench press, or press-up.
Training the Pectorals / Chest is often cited as a goal of bodybuilders. Care should be taken not to neglect the back muscles, as they
are an important antagonist to the pectorals, and should be given equal emphasis, to develop a well-balanced physqiue and avoid injury.
