Injured back

Posted By on 04 May 2009 at 06:11:58
Injured my lower back a couple of weeks ago. Been advised by the physio that I have torn a ligament connected to my L5 S1. 4 - 6 weeks of not being able to do much at all.

Not at all impressed by it. I can still exercise in a very mild manner. No running are weight bearing exercises though and I have to be careful not to hyper extend or flex too far.

Can't wait til I can train again properly. Though I have learnt my lesson from past experiences that I have to make sure it's 100% before loading it. Made that mistake with my ankle, which resulted in a year of being stuffed around by voodoo witch doctors and finally surgery and another 6 months of recovery and rehabilitation.

I won't be doing that again.

Location:Perth, Australia.
About User:Been a Sub-Unit Physical Training Instructor for 10 years.

I am a big fan of Gym Jones and CrossFIT, and the underlying message and reasoning behind these modes of training. Life is hard, some sports, employment and lifestyle choices can be fatal if you falter or fail, it's hard on the body and on the mind, so train hard or go home.

Most of the work outs I post are either directly from these establishments or are variations of them (will have (MOD) next to the name). This is due to the fact that not all gyms have all of the equipment required for some of the exercises, especially Gym Jones workouts. Otherwise the workouts posted have been developed for personal training over the years or are sessions that I have conducted.

Any session that I conduct, be it for 1 person or 90 people I have tested prior to make any adjustments as required or I can honestly say that I can or have done it before. I believe if your going to make people do something, be sure you have either done it beforehand or are doing it with them. Don't pretend you can or have when you can't.

IN THE END YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT OR BE DEALT WITH!
